Micro²Gen (Microsystems-Microfluidicsfor Genetictests and Molecular Diagnostics)is aMicrosystems company with products for the molecular diagnostics market and particularly for genetic tests.

Research activities
Currently Micro²Gen is developing a small size PCB including the PCR and the electronic DNA hybridization detection device (development of Micro2Gen), connected fluidically appropriately. The research activities of Micro2Gen are towards a fully integrated low-cost Bio-microsystem development.

Products
The All-in-one™ product, will be (at its final –fourth- phase of development), a low cost integrated micro system with modules for nucleic acid extraction, mixing steps, purification, PCR amplification, biochemical reactions, and DNA micro array detection in real time. The integrated microsystem will be developed in 4 different phases.

Market Potential
The world market of molecular diagnostics is expect to reach 5 BUSD and is by 2008. Technologies for Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) detection tests are still in very early stages of development and they have not been optimized for clinical use.
